The Reverend Douglas McCurry
Rector The Reverend Douglas McCurry currently serves as the Rector of Legacy Anglican Church, a position he has held since January 2005. Rev. McCurry moved to Montgomery in 2000 with his wife, Cathy Sue, and their four sons, who have grown into young men in Montgomery. All four sons are married and are raising their six grandchildren. Raised in Carson City, Nevada, Rev. McCurry earned a BS in Business from the University of Nevada, Reno. His career in retail took him to Colorado, where he pursued further education. After obtaining an MBA from the University of Colorado, he worked for the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado. It was during this time that he met and married Cathy Sue. A year later, they relocated to Ambridge, Pennsylvania, where Rev. McCurry attended Trinity School for Ministry and earned his M.Div. Following his ordination in the Episcopal Church, Rev. McCurry served in Valdosta, Georgia, and Austin, Texas, before settling in Montgomery where he is now a part of the Anglican Diocese of the South. |
Joshua Huggins
Parish Administrator Joshua Huggins joined The Legacy Church staff in 2019, beginning his tenure as a member of the worship team. He later transitioned into the role of Facilities Manager, where he diligently oversaw the maintenance of the church building and served the Early Learning Center as both Cook and Maintenance Technician. In 2022, Joshua was promoted to his current position as Parish Administrator. In this role, he provides leadership and oversight for all staff, outreach ministries, as well as overseeing all church and Early Learning center finances. His dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to the church’s mission have made him an invaluable member of The Legacy Church team. |
Tara Harris
The Legacy ELC Director Tara Harris joined The Legacy Church in 2013 as the Director of its newly established preschool. With 25 years of experience in early childhood education—having served as a teacher and director at KinderCare Center, Oma’s Today Care, Church of the Ascension, Christchurch, and Hooper Academy Early Learning Center—she brought a wealth of expertise to the role. Under her leadership, The Legacy Early Learning Center has flourished into one of Montgomery’s top-performing preschools, now serving 150 students and their families. |
