Personal Message
Come as you are.
At the age of fourteen, I felt called to be a pastor. My heart has always been to lead a church that worships God, welcomes everyone, cares about their community and wants to make a difference in their own lives and the lives of others.
I grew up going to a church steeped in centuries of tradition. When I was fourteen I experienced God through His Spirit. It was then that I realized God is not only the God of ages past but He is the God of the here and now, and that He wants to have an intimate, close and personal relationship with everyone He created. That relationship with God has carried me through bad times and good times. Instead of looking at my circumstances and the world around me for comfort, I found true comfort only through a relationship with God expressed through His son, Jesus Christ.
The times we live in are troubled and uncertain as we have seen in recent economic events. All of us in one way or another are touched by the financial markets, the rising and falling prices of gasoline and the future of this country.
In my home, my wife, Cathy Sue, and I are busy raising four boys to be men of character and commitment to their faith and understanding of who Christ is and what it means to live as a Christian in a turbulent world. Our passion for children is reflected in Legacy's commitment to children, as we teach our children to be full-fledged, committed members of church and community.
If you currently are not a member of a church, are looking for a church, or just want something different from the usual, I invite you to come and check us out. See if we are the church for you. I know you will enjoy worshiping God with us. Come as you are and leave forever changed.
The Reverend
Doug McCurry
Pastor of the Legacy Anglican Church
