Ponder Anew 2008
Is a weekly Legacy Church devotional featuring 53 Christian meditations previously published in Montgomery's Journey magazine. All are from the pen of Sam Whatley and are used with his permission. Some appeared in a collection entitled Pondering the Journey (True Life Publishers, 2002). We know you will enjoy and be inspired by these weekly devotions.

By The Rev. Doug McCurry, Pastor
At the 2005 Winter Conference for the Anglican Mission in the Americas, a keynote speaker was asked to critique the AMiA. He stated that the AMiA is strong in being both connected to the authority of scripture (Evangelical) and led by the Holy Spirit of God (charismatic) while at the same time maintaining a century old order with modem interpretation in the worship (historical and liturgical). The one thing the speaker mentioned was that in order for the AMiA to flourish it would need to leave a spiritual legacy and to do so by reaching the 130 million unchurched Americans
At that moment I felt my spirit quicken and knew that legacy was a word I would use to communicate the same message of evangelism. On our final Sunday at the old church Aaron Walker, our youth minister, preached on leaving a spiritual legacy. He had this message burning in his heart for sometime and God led him to preach it on January 23.
I realized that between the message at AMiA and Aaron Walker’s sermon, God was using the word legacy. in connection with the new church in Montgomery. After much prayer and with confirmation from the staff and others, Legacy Church seems to be the name God has chosen.
